The cabin itself it a sweet little gem--and a major accomplishment! Current Ouray County Alpine Zone guidelines would not allow a structure to be built on any parcel that doesn't have at least 35 acres. This was constructed prior to the guidelines being implemented allowing your the security and peace and quiet of having your Mountain Escape without having to own a whole country of land. The cabin is made up of a small living room area with a wood stove, eating area, kitchen and an upstairs sleeping loft. As you would expect the views are unbelievable-up and down the Ironton Park area as well as across the valley toward Imogene Pass and Telluride. Views north are toward Crystal Lake, the Million Dollar Highway and Ouray and south toward the Red Mountains, Red Mountain Pass, Chattanooga, the Yankee Girl, Red Mountain Town and Silverton. This little nugget is not for sissies--you'll need to haul water for now-there are springs and you can put in a well-the septic system hasn't been installed yet- that can be accomplished too. Heating in the cabin is by keeping your wood stove stoked and letting the soothing high country light come in. Access is seasonal-however nothing would prevent you from hiking, backcountry skiing or snowshoeing in during the winter months.
