Second Gardner Lake, also known simply as Second Lake, is a beautiful 1,650-acre warm-water lake in the heart of Washington County, offering exceptional fishing, boating, paddling, and peaceful lakeside recreation. From July through September, fishermen regularly catch healthy 9- to 12-inch white perch, making it one of the area's premier destinations for perch fishing. The Harmon Stream arm of the lake provides ideal habitat for chain pickerel, where anglers commonly land fish weighing between 1½ and 2½ pounds. Other species found in the lake include smallmouth bass, yellow perch, smelt, and the occasional landlocked salmon that migrate upstream from Gardner Lake. With a maximum depth of approximately 25 feet, Second Gardner Lake is well suited for kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, swimming, and boating.
