That original home is now a first floor bedroom with the original deep window sills and colonial woodwork fireplace (now decorative) still in place. The mid-section (now a portion of the open concept dining area with cathedral ceiling as well as a portion of the first floor full bathroom and laundry area) was added in about 1750. The original family room (now a part of the open concept kitchen/living area) was constructed in 1976. Pull down stairs in the kitchen/living area to access a large attic storage space for yet another feature that adds to the comfort and convenience of this home. A team of master craftsmen & technicians worked for over a year to install quartz countertops, Cafe appliances, hickory flooring and ceramic tile work throughout while preserving as much of the original stone home as possible. The luxurious red oak stairway with preserved gothic window leads to a 2nd floor master suite completed by an en suite bathroom and another decorative colonial fireplace. The master bathroom features a designer shower, quartz vanity, Kohler fixtures and custom tile work. The 2nd floor bathroom/dressing room serves the pair of third floor bedrooms with an Americast tub/shower, herringbone tile floors, solid surface counters, Kohler fixtures as well as dressing area with custom cubbies and smart mirror. A brand new covered porch overlooking the side and back yard in addition to a bonus room at the front of the property (study/playroom) complete this property's grand transformation. Multi-car parking and a turn-around allows cars to pull straight out of the driveway without the need to back into Springfield Road. CONSTRUCTION NOTES: The remodel of this property was achieved by master craftsmen, which shows not only in the finishes but also in the overall construction. Structural engineering, as well as building design and interior design were employed to realize the vision of the Solution Based Design Build team. New infrastructure was ably accomplished by the in-house experts at Solution Based Plumbing & Heating. The improvements include structural sewer from the curb to the house, high efficiency boiler with ultra high output, hot water maker, air conditioning with new duct work, Honeywell T10 smart thermostats with sensors, new electrical systems, new panel exhaust systems, kitchen exhaust, fresh air intake system, exterior grading, gutter system, stone pointing with historic mortar mix, and elastomeric Sherwin-Williams masonry paint applied to the exterior. Sherwin-Williams paint also applied on the interior. Only quality materials and labor were used in the completion of this project. 540 W. Springfield Road provides modern luxury with old world charm.
